Being a photographer means knowing how to imagine, prepare, shoot and post-process images.

It also means knowing how to manage the sales, marketing and communication side of the business: long-term prospect and customer relations.

But it also means knowing how to run your own business, even in its most arid aspects: social and tax declarations, accounting...

UPP is here to help you with all these tasks.

We can also recommend that you read the works of two authors who are experts on these subjects.

In alphabetical order:

1. Eric Delamarre

Eric Delamarre, freelance photographer and management trainer at several photography schools, has declared himself under almost all the statuses described in this book. Here, he answers all the questions his fellow photographers are or will be faced with, to help them avoid the setbacks he has encountered. This book was previously published under the title Profession auteur-photographe, by the Union des photographes créateurs (UPC).

Version 2021 of his book "Profession : photographe indépendant", published by Eyrolles, is the latest.

2. Joëlle Verbrugge

Her latest book, self-published, is entitled "la photo de rue". It provides an overview of the legal rules applicable to this type of photography, both at the time of shooting and, above all, when you publish your photos.

But you may also find it useful to read the other works by this lawyer, an expert in copyright and image rights, as well as in the management of photography-related projects.

Don't hesitate to invest in these books, which will prove extremely useful to you.
