Arles 2024: The UPP House of Photographers
From July 1 to 5, to coincide with the Rencontres Internationales de la Photographies professional week, the Union des Photographes Professionnels will be relocating the Maison des Photographes to an exceptional venue: the Cour des Podestats, in the city's hyper-center, right next to Place de la République and the Hôtel de Ville.
Throughout the week, this space will be the stage for exchanges, information sharing and discussions with key representatives of the professional photography ecosystem.

The UPP's elected representatives and staff will be on hand every day to chat with photographers and answer their questions on social, tax and contractual law, or any other subject close to their hearts. On this occasion, professional photographers will be able to find out about the call for entries for the 2024 edition of the UPP PRIZE.
In alternation, public and private speakers will also be on hand to exchange views and ideas.In particular, you'll find representatives from:

Inauguration evening:
Matthieu Baudeau, President of the Union des Photographes Professionnels, the Board of Directors and employees, invite you to the inauguration of the Maison des Photographes on Tuesday, July 4 from 7:00 pm.
This official opening will be an opportunity to discuss the various projects proposed by the UPP during the professional week, as well as to meet representatives of the entire photography ecosystem and discover Patrick Wack's exhibition: "Azov Horizons".

Portfolio Readings:
Portfolio readings will be organized with a team of professional readers from various backgrounds on Thursday, July 4 and Friday, July 5.
The readings are free for UPP members.

It's in this special venue that we'll also be delighted to present Patrick Wack's exhibition "Azov Horizons"
Patrick will also be hosting a presentation on his work on Tuesday July 2 from 5pm
Begun in 2019, "Azov Horizons" is a long-term photographic project exploring the territories around the Sea of Azov, a little-known but highly strategic northern extension of the Black Sea.
The vernissage will take place on Tuesday, July 02, 2024 from 6 pm at the Cour des Podestats d'Arles
Theexhibition is on view from July 02 to July 05 as part of the UPP's Arlesian week.

Patrick Wack will introduce us to the process of long-form photography, highlighting his "Azov Horizons" series. Begun in 2019, "Azov Horizons" is a long-term photographic project exploring the territories around the Sea of Azov, a little-known but highly strategic northern extension of the Black Sea. With annual chapters that allow the time of history to unfold in all its complexity, the "Azov Horizons" project takes the eye in search of both the roots and the visible traces of conflict.

During this conference, Alexandra Bensamoun, law professor and member of the interministerial mission on AI, and Yann Philippe, image and new technologies teacher at Gobelins, will present their vision of the impact of AI on intellectual property.
